The newest edition of WWE SmackDown will serve as the go home show for the first-ever two-night SummerSlam Premium Live Event (PLE), beginning just a night later, and it will be taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. WWE champion John Cena will go face-to-face with his challenger Cody Rhodes two nights before their highly anticipated championship match.
In the women’s division, WWE Women’s United States Champion Giulia will defend her title against Zelina Vega, which could turn out to be the best match on SmackDown this week. After weeks of back-and-back confrontations, Damian Priest will finally get the chance to take on Aleister Black in a one-on-one match on SmackDown with R-Truth being a wildcard, who could make his presence felt.
It is a stacked card put together by WWE SmackDown, which is expected to throw a few surprises apart from scheduled matches, like every other weekly show does in the promotion in recent times.
