Netizens went berserk on X as the official broadcasters of the Afghanistan-Ireland series mistook the former Pakistan captain Babar Azam for Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi. The multi-format series between Afghanistan and Ireland kicked off on February 28, Wednesday, with a Test match, before the two sides lock horns in a three-match ODI series and three-match T20I series in UAE.
On Day 1 of the exciting Test series, the official broadcasters of the match made a blunder as they mistook Afghan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi with former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. During the telecast of the match, one of the match graphics featuring both captains had Azam instead of Shahidi. Needless to say, the graphic started doing rounds on social media within no time, and netizens reacted to the same.
