Indian women’s cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues is celebrating her 22nd birthday on 5 September 2022. The right-handed batter who plays in the middle order is one of the most fun-loving and notorious players in the Indian dressing room. She is known for her off-field antics and for her great bond with India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana. But apart from her pranks and mischiefs, Rodrigues is an extremely talented batter.
She has won many matches for her team in a young international career so far. With the batter celebrating her birthday, wishes poured in for Jemimah from all corners. Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians also shared a tweet wishing Rodrigues on her special day.
“To one of the most vibrant cricketers with immense talent. Happy Birthday, Jemi,” tweeted the franchise.
Rodrigues was quick to reply to this tweet and as with her nature, it was a hilarious one. The 22-year-old first thanked the franchise but then she put forth her wish cum demand. Rodrigues asked the franchise to pick her for the inaugural edition of the Women’s IPL. “Thank you! You guys better pick me up for the Womens IPL… just saying,” replied Rodrigues.

While Rodrigues got a special birthday wish from Mumbai Indians, the Indian cricketer got a birthday gift from the International Cricket Council (ICC). Jemimah Rodrigues was one of the three cricketers who have been nominated for the ICC Players of the Month of August for women's international cricket.
Jemimah Rodrigues, Australia batter Beth Mooney and Australia all-rounder Tahlia McGrath are the three nominees selected by the world cricket governing body.
Notably, Jemimah was the backbone of the Indian team that went all the way into the finals of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. She concluded the multi-sports event fifth on the run-scorers list with 146 runs in five matches.
