Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife, Dhanashree Verma, are in the midst of divorce proceedings, bringing their three-year marriage to an end. The couple, who tied the knot in December 2020, have reportedly been living separately since June 2022. This incident has received a lot of social media attention owing to Yuzi Chahal’s popularity and social media presence. The news of a probable alimony amount that has to be borne by Chahal has also been circulated in the news.

In early 2025, the couple officially filed for divorce and the family court initially imposed the standard six-month cooling-off period, which is meant to give couples a chance at reconciliation. However, due to Chahal's hectic cricketing schedule, the Bombay High Court waived this period, allowing for an expedited legal process. According to court reports, the divorce is set to be finalized by March 20, 2025. As part of the settlement, Chahal has agreed to pay Dhanashree an alimony of INR 4.75 crore.
