
In Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 9, India has medal aspirations in athletics, boxing, judo, track cycling, and bowls. The highlight of Friday for the Indian camp is likely to be Neeraj Chopra who is a gold medalist at the Olympics and will participate in the men's javelin throw final as part of the bid to claim the medal in the Commonwealth Games after securing gold in the 2018 Gold Coast Games. Chopra will be participating in the event alongside teammates Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh. Meanwhile, the promising Indian boxing team will strive to inch towards gold and the judokas of the country will kick off their Commonwealth Games 2026 campaign.

Apart from Chopra, another athlete of India to watch out for in Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 9 is Tejaswin Shankar. Shankar, who is currently leading the decathlon competition after finishing second in the first five events, now has to cover five events, including the 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and the closing 1500m run.
