One of the most significant result of the day was 18 year old Manas Dhamne who is ranked #538 in the world beating Matteo Dodig (rank #238) in a three set match. This was his first win over a top-250 player when he beat Matej Dodig 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 in the opening round of the event. Manas is highly rated by many and he certainly showed his potential tonight. It was a highly thrilling match and Dhamne won the first set 7-5 but lost the second set 4-6 but was ruthless in the third set to win the match.
After winning the game, Manas Dhamne said “More than the win, I am happy for the other things, like the way I played. I have to improve but I feel we are on the right track”
England’s Jay Clarke who was the #3 seed for this tournament suffered a disappointing loss to Martineau. Clarke won the opening set 6-4 but lost his way as he suffered a 2-6 and 1-6 loss in the next two sets. Overall it was another big upset in the Bengaluru Open 2026.
Top Indian seed Sumit Nagal beat SDP Dev quite easily. Nagal who is ranked #275 and is the highest ranked Indian player beat his fellow Indian Dev 6-3, 6-3. Other winners of the day were Skatov, Martin, Mayot, Foretjek.
