F1 is an exciting and exhilirating sport for people all around the world, and there are many countries who are currently hosting its races every season. This works wonders for the nation considering the boost in tourism for them. According to the latest reports, there are many new countries who are interested in hosting the grand racing spectacle

The sport has gained a lot of popularity recently due to the "F1: Drive to Survive" series on Netflix as well as the release of "F1 The Movie". In a latest development, F1 has confirmed the interest of countries like Portugal, Germany and Turkey to host the race. In fact, just last month the Portuguese Prime Minister, Luis Montenegro, said at a political rally, “We have everything ready to formalise the return of Formula 1 to the Algarve in 2027.”

All promoters must be ready to meet 2030 carbon-neutral standards: F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali

Except for Zandvoort which stops hosting after 2026, Imola which hosted its final race this year, and Barcelona which may or may not continue following next year, all the other countries have a long-term contract with F1 until the year 2030 or beyond. The F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali revealed that they have signed important contracts with many promoters.

Domenicali further added that, “There’s Portugal, Turkey, and recently Hockenheim – which has new ownership – has shown interest. The most important thing prospective hosts must understand is that there are very few available slots, so those who sit at the table need financial strength. Today the situation is different from a few years ago, not only for what it takes to enter F1 but also for what must be invested. Let’s not forget we’re pushing hard on sustainability, all promoters must be ready to meet 2030 carbon-neutral standards.”
