Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu has withdrawn from the remainder BWF Tour 2025 as she has decided to focus on recovering from her foot injury completely. Prior to the European leg of the ongoing season, she picked up a foot injury and since September, she didn’t play any match. After staying out of action for more than one-and-a-half months, Sindhu decided to end her 2025 season after consulting her support squad and medical experts which also included Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala. In the last four years, this is the third time the star player couldn’t complete the season.

In a statement released on X on Monday, PV Sindhu informed that she has withdrawn from the competition as she is yet to recover from her injury. "After consulting closely with my team and with the guidance of the incredible Dr Pardiwala, we felt it was best for me to withdraw from all remaining BWF Tour events in 2025. The foot injury I sustained before the European leg has not fully recovered, and while it is never easy to accept, injuries are an inseparable part of every athlete's journey. They test your resilience and patience, but they also spark the fire to come back stronger,” read Sindhu’s social media post.

PV Sindhu’s notable performance in 2025

In the Badminton World Championships 2025 held in Paris in August, PV Sindhu reached the quarter-finals after defeating World No. 2 Wang Zhi Yi. However, she couldn’t enter the top four round as Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani stood tall against the Hyderabad-born player.

This year, she couldn’t win any title. Her last majestic success came in November 2024 when she won Syed Modi International Super 300 in Lucknow. Following that competition, she hasn’t reached the semi-finals.
