On Sunday, September 7, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz defeated top-ranked Jannik Sinner at the Flushing Meadows to lift the US Open 2025 men’s singles title. The 22-year-old beat his Italian counterpart 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in two hours and 42 minutes to claim his Grand Slam title. With this win, Alcaraz has become the second youngest man to win six Grand Slams, behind Bjorn Borg, who racked up six Slams at the age of 22 years and 19 days.
But a sight that captured the attention of the crowd apart from Alcaraz and Sinner’s performance, was United States (US) President Donald Trump’s presence at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Notably, Trump’s last appearance at the tennis major came in 2015, soon after his victory in his maiden Presidential elections.

But it ought to be not remembered for good reasons as the US President was welcomed amid boos. As soon as Trump was shown on the big screen during the anthem on Sunday, the crowd just got louder in their boos, a gesture which was also seen the last time he was there.
