RCB's Director of cricket operations Mike Hesson has finally revealed all the details about the franchise's preparation plans for the upcoming season of IPL. Right from pre-season camp to the arrival dates of all players, the 46-year-old explained everything about their plan of action considering the COVID-19 restrictions.

Details about RCB Camp

The staff members and few of the RCB players have already left for Chennai and have started their 7-day quarantine period. The camp will begin on March 29 with the players available. Notably, domestic players like Harshal Patel, KS Bharat and Shahbaz Ahmed are few of the players who have already started their quarantine in Chennai.

The franchise is scheduled to play the season opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians on April 9 at Chepauk Stadium. Hesson also confirmed that there will be few intra-squad practice games before their first game of the season.

Arrival dates of players

RCB's new signing Finn Allen is currently playing T20I cricket in New Zealand till April 1 and will leave for India post that. Aussie players Daniel Sams and Kane Richardson will arrive after March 31. Star duo of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell are slated to arrive to Chennai on March 28.

The Indian players, who are currently playing the ODI series against England, will leave for Chennai after March 28. Since they are already in a bio-secure bubble, those players could jump straight to the RCB camp. Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal, Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini and Mohammed Siraj are few of the players in that list.

Notably, Hesson added that there will be 1-2 players who might head back to home after ODI series and will then have to serve 7-day quarantine on arrival. It will be interesting to see who among the aforementioned players will join the camp so late.

RCB player getting married?

The 46-year-old also confirmed that Aussie leg-spinner Adam Zampa is getting married and is expected to be unavailable for the first game. Hesson said, "It's an important time for him (Zampa). It is something that as a franchise we are aware of and respect. We hope he has a great time so when he joins us, he is fresh and can make a massive contribution for the rest of the tournament."

With RCB's head coach Simon Katich also scheduled to arrive in a couple of days, the franchise is geared up to win their maiden IPL title in 2021.
