French forward Kylian Mbappe has signed a five-year deal with La Liga 2021-22 Champions Real Madrid as reported by Spanish newspaper Marca. The report suggests that the Paris Saint Germain player made his decision during the Sunday night French Professional Footballers' Union gala. These reports are following the news that Mbappe was seen in Madrid a few days back.

The 23-year-old on Sunday was talking about his future as he was quoted saying,“I will officially announce my decision on the future before I join the France national team in June. I will give my decision very quickly; it’s almost over,” he said. “My choice is almost made.”

Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported about a verbal agreement between Real Madrid and Mbappé. He adds that the contract would be a five-year deal with a salary of €25-million per year and will include a €100-million signing bonus.

Around early April 2022, LaLiga president Javier Tebas was quoted saying that Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid in the next transfer window. He said, “Madrid will get Mbappe and [Erling] Haaland as the others [Barcelona and Juventus] are half [financially] ruined," he said. That Mbappe comes is great news for LaLiga. It would be a joy for LaLiga. It's the best thing that could happen to LaLiga.”

Later Tebas clarified that he doesn’t have any substantial details about the transfer but expressed that there is a strong indication that Mbappe will leave PSG at the end of the season. Tebas said,

“I have no information regarding Mbappe. But I've seen few cases of players who have six months left on their contracts that have not renewed their contracts and then went on to continue at the club.”

“It is important to leave a mark, to always try to make history,” Mbappe

Mbappe won the Best player of the French league award for the 2021-2022 season. The 2018 World Cup winner addressed the award and said, "I am very happy, I thank the whole club, my teammates, all those who work at the club, the staff, and of course the President.”

“They helped me enormously to contribute to this third consecutive title. It is important to leave a mark, to always try to make history, and winning collective and individual titles is what counts for any football player. I have the chance to do it, so I am happy", the winner told us afterwards.”
