Along with Neeraj Chopra, Rohit Yadav is the second Indian to qualify for the final of the World Athletics Championship in Eugene, Oregon. Yadav hails from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh and has been throwing over the 80m mark several times in the last three months. He similarly enters his maiden World Championships campaign with eight 80m+ throws in his career. 

In June 2022, Rohit had a great performance at the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships with a personal best throw of 82.54 meters, which took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. He also won the National Championships on 29 June 2021 where he had a throw of 77.74m in Patiala, India. He has also already qualified for the upcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.
