Colby Covington said Jake Paul’s all accomplishments are fake and rigged.
Both fighters locked horns in UFC 272 in March 2022, where Covington defeated Masvidal via unanimous decision.
Colby Covington lost the welterweight championship match at UFC 296 to Leon Edwards via a unanimous decision.
During the UFC 296 pre-fight press conference, Covington made an insensitive comment towards the UFC champion.
As per earlier reports, it was learnt that Covington and Masvidal both were present at a restaurant called Papi Steak in Miami which is where the act of violence happened.
The build-up around this fight was so much because the two fighters, Covington and Masvidal share a long history.
Notably, Masvidal is one of the popular stars in the MMA circuit. If some reports are to be believed, he happens to be one of the world’s highest-paid MMA fighters, although official confirmation of the same is lacking.
The duo has previously locked horns inside the octagon at UFC 245 in December 2019 with the Nigerian Nightmare winning via fifth round knockout against Covington.
