Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is a professional T20 cricket league established in 2016 by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA). After coming into existence following the suspension of the joint-most successful team of Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings, TNPL aims to fill the void of major T20 cricket in the state while providing a platform for local and young talent.

Having the same model as the IPL, TNPL features eight franchises representing various districts of Tamil Nadu, namely Dindigul Dragons, Kyca Koval Kings, Tirrupur Tamizhans, Chepauk Super Gillies, Nellai Royal Kings, Trichy Grand Cholas, Siechem Madurai Panthers and Salem Spartans. These teams compete in a round-robin format, followed by playoffs, including the final.
