The FIFA World Cup 2022 is just a few weeks away and hence players, teams and fans alike have begun preparation for the marquee tournament. On these lines, one of the tournament favourites, England has made some major arrangements for its players and their partners for the World Cup.
The England player s will be travelling to Qatar in a £1bn luxury World Cup cruise ship alongside their partners. But Gareth Southgate’s men will not be allowed to live with their from partners as they will be confined to stay in strict COVID-19 bubbles.
Meanwhile, England WAGs will be staying along with 6,762 guests on board the brand-new MSC World Europa. The £1 billion cruise weighs a whopping 205,700 tonnes and has six swimming pools, a 643ft promenade, 13 restaurants, 14 sea-view whirlpools and more than 30 bars and cafes.
MSC World Europa will be making its maiden trip as it left the French dock in October. Talking more about the ship, the 6,762 guests on the boat are expected to live in the 2,633 cabins during the World Cup. Five-star packages to stay on board will be costing around £6,000. Many supporters are planning to travel to Qatar and hence cruises like these have emerged as an option for the World Cup due to the lack of hotels.
England is in a group with USA, Iran and Wales. The Three Lions kick off their campaign against Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium on 21 November. They then face the USA in Al Bayt on 25 November and play Wales at the Al Rayyan Stadium four days later.
But days before the World Cup, England will be missing the services of left-back Ben Chilwell who is set to remain out because of an injured hamstring. Chilwell’s injury has come as a big blow as Gareth Southgate will be naming the final 26-man World Cup squad on Thursday.
Similarly, Southgate will also be concerned about the availability of Chilwell’s Chelsea team-mate Reece James and Manchester City pair Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips.
