Just when ardent lovers believe that they might have seen it all, some bizarre event happens on the cricket field. That perhaps is the very beauty of the sport as it keeps fans on the edge of their seat. However, this time around it was not the cricketing action that attracted eyeballs.
In fact, even before the first ball of the ongoing ODI series between West Indies and India was bowled, fans were treated to a rather strange visual. This was nothing else but the very trophy for which the teams were set to compete for the ODI series. As captains Nicholas Pooran and Shikhar Dhawan posed with the trophy, it was the design of the trophy itself which attracted all the attention of the netizens.
The trophy is unlike anything one has seen in the recent past and is of snake-like shape which did not seem to go down too well with the fans. "Trophy design by Ekta Kapoor," wrote on user on Instagram. "The winner gets a.. snake?," wrote a Twitter user.

Meanwhile, the series has gotten underway at the Port of Spain with West Indies winning the toss and opting to bowl. However, the plan seems to have backfired as the Indian openers are unseparated having already added 100 runs on the board.
