With the new NFL season only six days away, Dallas Cowboys performed a shocking move as they traded All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers on August 28. The new development was announced by Micah Parsons through his X account. Parsons was exchanged with the Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and a 2026 and 2027 first-round pick. Parsons spent four seasons with Dallas and in recent months, he was discontented with Dallas while attempting to get an extension.

Parsons’ new move got reactions from NBA stars. Julius Randle and Donovan Mitchell looked unhappy with the move while D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis, who are avid Green Bay fans, enjoyed the new development. Taking to X, D'Angelo tagged his Dallas Mavericks’ teammate Anthony Davis and celebrated Parsons’ transfer to Packers. Russell wrote, “Go Pack Go @AntDavis23.”

Micah Parsons served the Cowboys for four years and during this period, he compiled 52.5 sacks in 63 outings and joined Hall of Famer Reggie White as the second player in NFL history to register 12 or more sacks in their initial four NFL editions. During those four years, Parsons was also declared defensive rookie of the year in 2021. He also ended up as a two-time All-Pro and gained a Pro Bowl nod every year.

In the previous season, Parsons recorded 12 sacks, 43 tackles, one pass defended, and a couple of forced fumbles. Since 2021, he also possesses a 30% pass rush win rate which means he outclassed his blocker within 2.5 seconds 30% of the time.
