John Cena, the record-setting 17-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, is currently in the homestretch of his farewell tour in the promotion with just four dates remaining till the end of 2025. The final match of John Cena’s legendary WWE career will take place at the Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC after he shows up on Raw twice and Survivor Series Premium Live Event (PLE) this month.
Even before the farewell tour of John Cena began in WWE earlier this year, the fans had one question on their mind the most and it was about who would be his final opponent in the promotion. That question has been partially answered by the man himself in a video shared by WWE during the live broadcast of the Saturday Night’s Main Event, which happened at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
During the video package, John Cena acknowledged the question about his final opponent and responded to it by saying, “My answer has always been the same, on my last day, I want to face whoever is willing to step up and cease the same kind of opportunity I was given on my first.” After that, he proceeded to announce that a tournament of 16 superstars from Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and unseen faces will be held to determine his final WWE opponent and it is called “The Last Time is Now Tournament”, which will begin on November 10.
John Cena won the record-setting 17th WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41 earlier this year
Over the past 10 months or so, John Cena has battled some of the best that WWE had to offer, including the likes of Cody Rhodes, AJ Styles, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Brock Lesnar, and more. He went onto win the 17th WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41 as a heel at the expense of Cody Rhodes to set the record for most world titles in the promotion before dropping it to the same man at SummerSlam after turning face.
Knowing the grit, determination, and the commitment to WWE, John Cena will be excited and nervous to put on a show of a lifetime at Saturday Night’s Main Event next month to go out on a high.
