Roman Reigns recently clarified his plans in pro-wrestling, while hinting at his future. The Original Tribal Chief, who is no longer a part of the company as a performer, has hinted on joining the film industry. He is all set to play the role of Akuma in the upcoming live-action movie 'Street Fighter'. However, many think, indulging in both industries will be quite a challenge for him.

Speaking on 'What’s Your Story' with Stephanie McMahon, the 40-year-old, reflected on the paths of The Rock, John Cena, and Batista, who left wrestling to focus on acting. Unlike them, he expressed his ambition to build a legacy that bridges both worlds. He believes in conquering professional wrestling and acting without giving up either of the professions.

I wanted to be the first guy who could do both: Roman Reigns

Reigns, who will start shooting for the film in September, aims to focus on the movie for now. The film is jointly produced by Legendary, Sony, and Capcom, and is slated for a 2026 release. The movie will feature his fellow WWE star Cody Rhodes as Guile. However, he doesn't want to stop being a WWE Superstar. While speaking in the podcast, he said, “I wanted to be the first guy who could do both,” Reigns said. “D**m near lead a movie and then also still main event a pay-per-view. I don’t want to stop being a WWE Superstar in order to wear other hats. I’m always going to be a WWE Superstar,” he continued.

Besides Street Fighter, Reigns has joined the cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ heist comedy 'The Pickup', starring Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson. His decision to actively pursue both wrestling and acting, represents a shift from his earlier stance. Back in April 2025 interview, Reigns revealed that his WWE contract would run through WrestleMania 2026, after which he intends to transition into “less physical” forms of entertainment.
