World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins defeated Cody Rhodes, the WWE Champion, at Crown Jewel Premium Live Event (PLE) on October 11 at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, to win the men’s Crown Jewel Championship. But just two nights later on WWE Raw, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed of The Vision turned on Seth Rollins, beating him down with their greatest hits, seemingly at the behest of The Oracle Paul Heyman.
Amid this, as per the report from F4WOnline.com’s Dave Meltzer, who is also associated with Wrestling Observer Radio, stated that WWE had planned a one-on-one match at WrestleMania 42 next year between Seth Rollins and his big rival Roman Reigns, who were the part of The Shield for many years alongside Dean Ambrose until their relationship turned sour over the last few years. These two had last battled in singles action at Royal Rumble in 2022 with the contest ending in a disqualification.
Seth Rollins was tentatively scheduled to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania: Dave Meltzer
Dave Meltzer gave an in-depth detail about the latest development in WWE, which read, “Seth Rollins was tentatively scheduled to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania [next year]. I don’t know this, but I have been told enough things to where I expected there to be a turn on Seth Rollins at some point. The whole thing with this faction was not about Seth Rollins. It was about Bron Breakker and making Bron Breakker the next Roman Reigns. I doubt it was going to be this early.”
Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins were pitted against each other last time at WrestleMania 41 earlier this year in a triple threat match, which also had CM Punk. Towards the conclusion of the contest, Paul Heyman betrayed Punk before doing the same to Reigns, aligning himself with Rollins to shock the world before creating The Vision featuring Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.
Moreover, there is a school of thought that WWE hastened their plans to turn Breakker and Reed on Rollins after the latter reportedly suffered a serious shoulder injury during last week’s match against Cody Rhodes.
