119:WATCH Jatinder Singh recreates Shikhar Dhawan's famous 'thigh-five'

After 5 years of long wait, the T20 World Cup is back and it did not take much time for fans to witness some much-awaited entertainment. In Match 1, Oman were up against Papua New Guinea and it was nothing short of a roller-coaster. The home side got off to a brilliant start as they won the toss and got two wickets without a run being scored.

But this is when the duo of Assad Vala and Charles Amini notched up a crucial 81-run partnership for 3rd wicket to get PNG back into the contest. But after the unfortunate run-out of Amini, things started to go haywire and Assad Vala's dismissal resulted in a batting collapse.

Brilliant catch by Jatinder Singh

Oman got their lead pacer Kaleemullah back into the attack in 15th over and he did not take much time to force a false-shot from the PNG captain. Assad Vala, who had scored a brilliant fifty, got an edge and skied the ball up in the air as Jatinder Singh completed a brilliant running catch to send the left-handed batsman back to the pavilion.

While the effort was pleasing for everyone to watch, it was the celebration which stole the show. Jatinder Singh recreated Shikhar Dhawan's famous 'thigh-five' celebration after taking the catch which gave everyone a memorable moment to cherish in the tournament opener.
