Just when you thought that you have seen it all in IPL 2021, the match no. 55 between MI and SRH proved otherwise! In a do-or-die encounter for the defending champions, Rohit Sharma's side produced a remarkable performance in the first half with the bat. Ishan Kishan smashed SRH bowlers all over the park as he went on to score 84 runs off only 32 deliveries. However, there was lot of action and drama yet to take place in the match.

After the early fireworks, the onus was now on the experienced shoulders of Kieron Pollard to finish the task that Kishan had started. Surprisingly, he got off to a rather scratchy start and was eventually dismissed by Siddarth Kaul.

DRS gives Pollard a second life

The MI all-rounder seemed to have missed a straight delivery as the ball went on to hit the pads. The umpire also seemed to have no hesitation before raising his finger. Pollard's expressions also revealed that he knew he was out but he still took a DRS considering the importance of his wicket.

The replays took some time to display on the big screen which increased the drama in Abu Dhabi. Pollard had started to walk back towards the dug-out but everything turned around in the next 30 seconds. The hawk-eye confirmed that the ball would have gone above the stumps, giving Pollard a second life much to the disbelief of everyone inside the stadium.

However, Pollard's stay did not last long as he was eventually dismissed on 13 by Abhishek Sharma, courtesy some brilliant field-placing by SRH.
