Indian captain Rohit Sharma is finally out of isolation after having tested negative for COVID-19 and will now be available to lead the visitors in the opening game of the white-ball series against England. The first of the three T20Is is scheduled on July 7 at Southampton. The 35-year-old missed out on playing the rescheduled fifth Test against England as he tested positive days before the start of the Test and failed to recover in time.

Reports have suggested that BCCI's medical team has suggested some time off from the game for the Hitman due to which Rohit Sharma did not feature in th T20 warm-up game against Northamptonshire. However, Rohit has started participating in the net session and one of the videos doing the rounds on social media shows the Indian skipper padded up and heading for his turn to bat at nets.

Check out the video below:

Earlier, the one-off Test which is being played at Edgbaston was initially part of India's red-ball tour to England last year, but the COVID-19 virus wreaked havoc and the final Test match had to be postponed. Both the boards mutually agreed to reschedule this Test to a later date.

Unfortunately though Rohit Sharma contracted Coronavirus days before the start of the Test match and Jasprit Bumrah is leading the Men in Blue in his absence. While Rohit will be raring to go after an extended break from the game, the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja will join the team from the second T20I onwards. After the conclusion of the T20I series, the 50-over games will kick start on July 10 at Trent Bridge, in Nottingham.
