The current Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan has been one of the funniest and most entertaining characters on the cricketing circuit. Be it on his social media handles with regular hilarious reels, Gabbar never disappoints. Similarly, during the first ODI between India and West Indies, he did something similar which has now gone viral.

In the 37th over of the West Indian innings, the hosts were attempting to chase down 309, when Brandon King punched a delivery from India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal towards the cover region. Dhawan was stationed at that spot and he made a decent diving stop, ensuring it was a dot ball.

Dhawan quickly looked at King to make sure he wasn’t attempting to take a run or was out of the crease and then suddenly, the Indian captain started doing push-ups. Dhawan himself was entertained at his antics as did the on-air commentators. “Always plays with a smile on his face. Such a jovial character," said the commentator.

Shikhar Dhawan won the Player of the Match award for his 97 runs knock. After the match, Dhawan talked about feeling disappointed on missing out on a century.

He said, “Disappointed not to get the 100, but it was a good effort by the team. We got a good score in the end. There were nerves in the end and didn't expect it to turn that way. We kept our cool and one small change in the end where we pushed the fine leg back and that really helped us. The discussion was to use the bigger side as much as we can and we want to keep on learning and make ourselves better for the rest of the competition.”
