After an exciting league stage in IPL 2021, the playoffs kicked off on Sunday with Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings locking horns in Qualifier 1 to secure their berth in the grand finale. MS Dhoni won the all-important toss in Dubai and asked DC to bat first. The onus was on the opening duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw to get their side off to a quick start and they did not disappoint.

With Dhawan looking silent at one end, it was Prithvi Shaw who took the charge against CSK bowlers as he played some aggressive shots against Deepak Chahar and Josh Hazlewood. While he played some mesmerizing shots, there was luck also on his side as the ball kept on going towards the boundary. Despite the dismissal of his partner, he continued to wreak havoc and he was eventually caught in the 5th over, but not by a CSK player.

What a catch in the crowd!

As Shardul Thakur was brought into the attack, he was slightly short with his length and Prithvi Shaw pounced on the opportunity and smoked the ball over the deep mid-wicket boundary for a gigantic 84m six. All the CSK fielders could only see the ball sailing over the boundary but there was a spectator in the stands who had his eyes absolutely focused on the ball.

The fan judged the trajectory to perfection and got himself in a brilliant position to complete an outstanding catch as the on-air commentators praised him for his fielding skills.

Shaw continued to play his shots and eventually completed an impressive half-century in only 27 deliveries.
