The trend of sports movies in the country is on an all-time high with so many films being made on a regular basis. Particularly for cricket, it all started with a blockbuster hit 'Lagaan' in 2001 and it was followed by films like Iqbal, MS Dhoni - The untold story, Azhar, Dil Bole Hadippa, Patiala House and so on. Recently, the trailer of upcoming movie 'Jersey' was also launched.

But amid all this, one of the most-awaited movies in this genre has been '83' which is based on India's historic maiden world cup winning campaign. Ever since the title has been announced, fans have been waiting keenly for it to hit the cinema halls. Ranveer Singh, who is playing former Indian captain Kapil Dev, has shared a few glimpses of his look in last few months which has certainly created lot of buzz.

Teaser gives a glimpse of moment when India started dreaming

The teaser of the movie was launched on Friday and it was indeed brilliant and surprising at the same time. With the footage of the Lord's being shown in the clip, fans would have thought that it was setup for the historic moment of Mohinder Amarnath getting Michael Holding adjudged LBW to win for India.

However, much to everyone's surprise, the 59-second teaser showed another defining moment of that grand finale. Fans get a chance to re-live the moment when Viv Richards tried to play a slog shot off the bowling of Madan Lal but Kapil Dev produced a heroic effort to take a spectacular catch, which set up the platform for India to clinch the title in 1983.

The teaser is certainly giving the Indian cricket fans goosebumps and one just cannot wait for the trailer now, which is set to be released on November 30. Meanwhile, the movie will release in cinemas on December 24, Friday.
