We have all come across the term ‘deja vu’ which is used when one feels that what they are seeing in present has been witnessed by them in past. This is what happened during the 2nd T20I between India and Sri Lanka in Dharamshala. After Sri Lanka got themselves off to a cautious start in powerplay, they started to go after the spinners.
Danushka Gunathilaka smashed Ravindra Jadeja for 6, 4, 6 before losing his wicket. The Sri Lankan batsmen tried to continue the momentum but things did not really go according to the plan. Charith Asalanka, half-centurion of 1st match, tried to play an aggressive sweep shot off the bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal but missed the ball which crashed onto the pads in front of the wicket.

A huge appeal was made and umpire raised his finger. As a result, the DRS was taken! Interestingly, an exactly similar sequence of events had unfolded in Lucknow as well featuring same batsman, same bowler, same shot, same LBW appeal, same on-field decision and same reaction to take a review. However, there was one notable difference this time around – the final outcome!
Unlike the previous match, where a minor spike off bat had saved Asalanka, did not come to his rescue and a flat line on replays meant that the left-handed batsman had to go back to pavilion on Saturday, giving Chahal a perfect revenge over his compatriot.

Funnily, even the other team members of India (who had come on the field during drinks break) signaled out behind the umpire, suggesting that there was no way Asalanka was getting saved this time around.
