Pakistan will be kicking-off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign against Oman on 12th September at the Dubai international stadium. Pakistan have already announced their 17 member squad for the tournament. To the surprise of many, players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were not announced in the squad and have been dropped from Pakistan’s squad.

Pakistan are placed in the group ‘A’ which consists of other three teams like India, Oman and UAE. The most heated rivalry in the history of cricket between India vs Pakistan is scheduled  to be played on 14th September at the Dubai international stadium amidst a lot of controversies. Pakistan will be led by their new captain Agha Salman who is an all-rounder, he will be looking to take the team deep into the tournament and produce a memorable campaign for Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. However, some of the players in the Pakistan National team are not expected to play even a single match throughout the tournament.

Following are the Pakistan players who might not play a single match throughout the Asia Cup 2025:-

Salman Mirza

The Pakistan fast-pacer is not likely to find any game-time throughout the Asia Cup 2025 as the team is loaded with pacers like Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr. The pitches in the UAE support the spinners more than the pacers which is why the management is expected to prefer the spinners more than the pacers in those conditions and he is unlikely to get a chance even with three pacers included in the starting eleven as he rakes down the order in terms of preference.

Hasan Ali

One of the most experienced Pakistan bowlers, Hasan Ali is a medium-fast bowler who has been a loyal servant for the Pakistan national team. Hasan Ali might lose out on a chance to play a single match in the tournament as Mohammad Wasim Jr is expected to start ahead of him. The conditions are more suitable for the spin attack which is why not more than three pacers are expected in the lineup and Hasan Ali might just miss out on playing in the Asia Cup

Hussain Talat

The young talented batsman who currently plays lower down the order for Pakistan is unlikely to play a single match in the tournament as the all-rounder Kushdil Shah might be preferred in his role because of the overall qualities that the all-rounder possesses. Despite coming in as a top order batsman his role was changed to a finisher in the team. However, he displayed some outstanding performances in that role but might not be preferred in the team because of other players like Fakhar Zaman and Salman Agha coming in before him.
