The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has demanded strict action for two of the Pakistani players, Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan. The Indian cricket board has reportedly lodged an official complaint to ICC and the match referee Andy Pyroft over provocative and indecent behaviour by both the players during the Super 4s clash of Asia Cup 2025 in Dubai on September 21. India and Pakistan met for the second time in this Asia Cup on Sunday as both the teams were qualified to the Super 4s.

While Team India continued to not shake hands with the players from the opponent team, Pakistani players took the matter further with their controversial gestures throughout the match. Firstly, opening batter Sahibzada Farhan did a ‘gun firing’ celebration after completing his half-century. On the other hand, fast bowler Haris Rauf also made provocative gestures as first he made a gesture of a plane crash and also signalled 6-0 with his fingers.

ICC acknowledged BCCI’s complaint against Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan

As per the further reports, the ICC has acknowledged BCCI’s complaint against Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan. Now, the Apex Cricket body is likely to call Rauf and Farhan for hearing and both the players might have to appear before the ICC Elite Panel Referee Richie Richardson. Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board also raised obligations when Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav dedicated the victory to the Indian Armed forces after defeating Pakistan in the group stage match of Asia Cup 2025.

Amidst all this controversy, there are chances that India and Pakistan may face each other again in the final of Asia Cup 2025. India already confirmed their spot in the final after defeating Bangladesh on Wednesday, September 24. Now, Bangladesh and Pakistan will face each other on September 25 and the winning team will face Men in Blue in the title clash on September 28.
