Prior to the Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan in Dubai, Yograj Singh has issued a warning to the Men in Green. The Super 4 game between the arch-rivals on September 14 witnessed aggression from both sides. After completing his fifty, Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan was seen celebrating with his bat as a gun and fireshots. In the second innings, when Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill were dominating Pakistan’s bowling attack, Haris Rauf was seen exchanging words with the left-handed opener.

Yograj has given his views on the heated exchange among players of both teams. Former India player said that he always stands with India and no one should speak against the nation. However, he believes that players of both sides deserve respect. “I will always be with my country. I am a citizen of my country. If anyone speaks against my country, I will not tolerate it... But, as far as the players are concerned, they should be respected. If your country doesn't respect us, how will the outsiders respect us?” said Yograj.

Yograj Singh blamed Pakistan players for starting the argument

Yograj further said that the aggression was started by Pakistan players. “Both the players were playing. They were not saying anything to anyone. So, the players (Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf) went and started abusing them. Neither Abhishek said anything, nor Shubhman. Then what is the point of this? This is not frustration; what is it?” he remarked.

Both India and Pakistan will play in the final of the Asia Cup for the first time. Reigning champions will want their key players Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav to be disciplined to vanquish Pakistan for the third time in the competition and retain the title.
