The Ashes 2025-26 series will start from November 21, with the opening game to be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Veteran Joe Root will be crucial for England to win the Test series on Australian soil after 14 years. In his 13-year Test career, Root has scored 39 hundreds but none of them came down under. Discussing his overall Test numbers in Australia, he has notched up 892 runs in 27 innings of 14 matches. This year, he is in sensational form and England supporters will expect him to dominate Aussie bowlers.
Recently, former Australia opener Matthew Hayden appeared in a discussion on the "All Over Bar the Cricket" Youtube Channel and backed Joe Root to produce a ton in the Ashes 2025 but also said that he will walk nude if the 34-year-old doesn’t score a century in Australia this time. "I’ll walk nude around the MCG if he doesn’t make a hundred this summer,” he said. After the ex-Australia opener’s statement, his daughter Grace Hayden requested Root to notch up a ton in the upcoming Ashes.
