Sri Lanka is second best team in Asia Cup: Irfan Pathan ahead of IND vs PAK
Former India all-rounder who has been vocal of his opinions in and around the genre of cricket, recently took to social media to hail the Sri Lankan cricket team for their brand of play. He took to X and wrote, “Sri Lanka is the second-best team in the Asia Cup so far.” His comments came after Sri Lanka’s six-wicket win over Bangladesh on Saturday, September 14 which saw them chase the total in 14.4 overs.
Seeing his remark come just ahead of the highly-anticipated India versus Pakistan clash, sparked buzz on social media. While to many is seemed as a passing remark, some related it to Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha’s smirk when a journalist had claimed Afghanistan as Asia’s second-best team ahead of the tri-nation series.
