Pakistan started their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a dominating win over Oman at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. After posting 160/7 in their 20 overs, the Pakistani did a commendable job as they bowled Oman out for just 67 runs. For Pakistan, Mohammad Haris scored 66(43) runs with the bat while Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem and Faheem Ashraf impressed with the ball as Pakistan registered a convincing victory.

Coming to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan didn’t get a great start as they lost their first wicket at the score of just four runs on the second ball of the match as Saim Ayub registered a golden duck. After that, Sahibzada Farhan and Mohammad Haris added 85 runs for the second wicket. Sahibzada got out after scoring a run-a-ball 29 runs with one four, while Haris scored 66 runs off 43 balls seven fours and three sixes.

Oman bowled out for 67 runs as Pakistan registered dominant win

After Mohammed Haris’ dismissal, Pakistan kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were able to reach the 160-run mark after batting for 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman remained unbeaten 23*(16) runs hitting two fours, while Mohammad Nawaz scored a quickfire 19(10) runs. For Oman, Faisal Shah and Aamir Kaleem took three wickets each while Mohammad Nadeem put one in his bag.

Chasing the target of 161 runs, Oman were nowhere in the game as the Pakistani pacers didn’t let their batters stay at the crease for a longer time. Hammad Mirze was top scorer with 27(23) runs as Oman were bowled out for just 67 runs in 16.4 overs. For Pakistan, Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem and Faheem Ashraf took two wickets each while Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz scalped a wicket each.
