Fast bowler Matt Henry ended up delivering 16 dots in his spell of 20 balls in The Hundred 2025 clash between Welsh Fire and Southern Brave at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on August 20. Playing for Welsh Fire, the right-arm ended up taking two wickets by conceding just five runs in his spell of 20 balls. In these 20 balls, Henry bowled 16 dot balls in a match where only 100 balls were bowled per innings.

However, Matt Henry’s efforts went in vain as Welsh Fire ended up losing by just four runs chasing a target of 130 runs in 100 balls. Batting first after losing the toss, Southern Brave posted a total of 129 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Hilton Cartwright turned out to be the top scorer with a quickfire 51* runs off 19 balls hitting two fours and five sixes. For Welsh Fire, Matt Henry, David Payne and Chris Green took two wickets each while Ajeet Dale and Paul Walter scalped a wicket each.

Chasing the winning target, Welsh Fire kept losing wickets at regular intervals as they were reduced to 50/4 after 31 deliveries. Jonny Bairstow scored a quickfire 22 runs off 10 balls hitting four fours and a six. After that, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Saif Zaib put up a steady partnership of 32 runs.

Cadmore scored 25 off 28 balls while Zaib contributed with 21 runs off 19 balls. In the end, Welsh Fire fell short of Southern Brave’s total by just four runs. For Southern Brave, Jofra Archer took three wickets conceding 20 runs in his 20 balls. Apart from that, James Coles and Craig Overton took two wickets each while Chris Jordan put one in his bag.
