Just two days after breaking silence on the tragic stampede, which occurred in Bengaluru during the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise - Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) victory parade on June 4 this year, the red and black franchise have now shared a long-term plan to support their fans. It is to be noted that just hours after RCB’s maiden IPL title win in Ahmedabad, RCB conducted an illustrious trophy ceremony at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

During the jam-packed stadium, the franchise did a trophy tour. In the same event, around 11 people lost their lives in a fatal stampede, which took place just outside the stadium. However, the franchise initially expressed their grief on the incident while extending a monetary compensation of INR 10 Lakh, on Saturday, August 30, they further extended a financial aid of INR 25 Lakh to the families of the deceased.

RCB extends support with its newly-launched RCB Cares initiative

Taking to social media, the IPL 2025 champions, announced long-term plan for their 12th Man Army, which extends to its fans. In a post on X, RCB captioned, “RCB Cares is our long-term commitment to support, empower and elevate our 12th Man Army, through meaningful action.” The programme aims to cater to the following pointers -

▪ Build safe & inclusive environments

▪ Empower communities with real opportunities

▪ Invest in independent research on crowd safety

▪ Elevate fan memory into something permanent

▪ Build futures through sport

Speaking of the franchise, the Rajat Patidar-led side ended their long wait of the prestigious IPL trophy in 2025, when they defeated Punjab Kings by six runs in the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Entering the playoffs after sealing the second place in the standings, RCB had defeated PBKS in Qualifier 1 to seal a berth in the final.
