On Sunday, September 21, India continued to maintain their unbeaten streak in the Men’s Asia Cup 2025, underway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Coming into the Super Four stage after finishing at the top of the Group A standings with three consecutive wins, India defeated Pakistan by six-wicket margin to establish their domination in the competition as they eye record ninth title.
While the match had its moments, Team India also continued to remain firm of the few decision which were visible in their previous fixture against Pakistan, which came last Sunday on September 14. Like the previous time, the Indian cricket team once again refrained from shaking hands with their arch-rivals, a controversy which emerged in the last match.
Umpires se toh mil le: Gautam Gambhir spotted saying as India snubs handshakes with Pakistan again
As the Indian team maintained their no handshake policy with the Pakistan team after their six-wicket win on Sunday, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir act grabbed several eyeballs. After India chased the 172-run target in 18.5 overs, courtesy a 39-ball 74 from Abhishek Sharma, along with 47 from Shubman Gill and a 19-ball 30* from Tilak Varma, Gambhir was spotted saying, “umpires se toh mil le”. Some have also reported that Gambhir called the players out to meet only the umpires.

While the players of the side entered the dressing room, Gambhir who was standing alongside batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, said “umpires se toh mil le” as they refrained from greeting their arch-rivals. With a comfortable win, India currently sit at the top of the Super Four standings with a net run rate of +0.689, followed by Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
The Men in Blue will next play Bangladesh, who are coming off a win over Sri Lanka, on Wednesday, September 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
