There are always some glorious chapters in life that Cricketers are able to in their playing journey and where it comes to T20 cricket, then many a stalwart has been able to leave an indelible mark for his or her noted franchise league as seen in the past few years. One such case is that of David Warner and the team Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. However, not every chapter that begins well and reaches certain peaks ends on a glorious note. Isn’t it? Sometimes there are some memories that are much like a leave behind you wouldn’t want to remember. Isn’t it? It’s a bit baffling that David Warner and his former IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad still don’t go well!

The Indian Premier League, if you really come to think about it, is a place where memories are made, but at the same time, where relationships can sometimes suffer silent damage. It is not always about sixes, centuries and roaring crowds. Sometimes, there are stories away from the field that leave fans perplexed and perhaps even a little saddened. And one such story certainly revolves around David Warner and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

For a cricketer who once carried the Orange Army on his shoulders, leading from the front with blistering knocks, remarkable consistency and above all else, a fierce sense of competitiveness, the fact that Warner still remains blocked from SRH’s social media page comes across as rather strange. Even today, despite the passage of time, the disconnect remains.

And this is a batter who wasn’t merely an overseas player turning up for a franchise assignment.

David Warner was, for the longest period of time, the beating heart of Sunrisers Hyderabad. He won them matches from impossible situations, lifted the IPL trophy in 2016 under pressure and became one of the most destructive batters the tournament has ever seen. Which is perhaps why fans continue to find this episode difficult to understand. Rivalries are understandable in cricket.

Tough decisions are understandable too.

But when it comes to a player of Warner’s stature and contribution to the SRH camp, the continued social media block feels somewhat unnecessary and surprisingly bitter even now.

One certainly hopes that one of the finest partnerships in the history of the Indian Premier League- one that took SRH to such heights in the past courtesy, Warner- rediscovers the warmth and respect that an association of that stature warrants.
