Former India captain Virat Kohli came up with a heartfelt note for Cheteshwar Pujara a couple of days after his retirement from all forms of cricket. Pujara bid adieu to his cricketing career via Instagram post on August 24. He was last seen playing for India in the World Test Championship final against Australia in June 2023 and his last professional cricket match was during the Ranji Trophy in February 2025.
“Wearing the Indian jersey, singing the anthem, and trying my best each time I stepped on the field - it’s impossible to put into words what it truly meant. But as they say, all good things must come to an end, and with immense gratitude I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket,” Pujara wrote on his retirement post on Instagram. After his retirement, Cheteshwar Pujara has been getting messages from several big names in the cricketing fraternity.
