Australian captain Alyssa Healy led from the front and scored her sixth hundred in Women’s One Day International (WODI) during the high stakes ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2025 clash against co-hosts India. At the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam, the 35-year-old silenced the home crowd with her power-packed batting display, reaching the three-figure score in just 84 balls with 15 fours and one six in pursuit of the 331-run target.
The milestone moment for Alyssa Healy came in the 31st first of the Australian innings when she took an easy single on a fuller delivery from Sneh Rana after hitting it towards the long-on region. She continued on her merry way by hitting the Indian off spin bowler for a six and a four in the same over before taking boundaries off the pacers Kranti Gaud and Amanjot Kaur, to put Australia in a very strong position in the run chase.
As of this writing, Australia have reached 233/3 in 35 overs in the pursuit of the 331-run target with Alyssa Healy (122* off 93) and Ashleigh Gardner (30* off 28) at the crease. A win for the reigning world champions could end up helping them to reach the top of the standings in the ongoing ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, bringing England down from the perch.
