Star Indian cricketer and one of the veteran pacer, Mohammed Shami recently opened up on his personal struggles. Appearing on Rajat Sharma’s 'Aap ki Adalat', the Indian pacer was questioned about his marriage life. It is to be noted that Shami married Hasin Jahan in 2014, but due to strained relations, the couple separated in 2018.

Following their separation, she filed a domestic violence case against him which is currently being taken care in the Bengal court. The couple has been blessed with a daughter, who was born in 2015, just a year after their marriage. When asked of his marriage, Shami admitted that it was his “biggest mistake.”

Reflecting on his marriage on Rajat Sharma’s show, Shami began, “Life teaches you many things. I admit it was the biggest mistake of my life. I don’t blame anybody, it was my fate.” Shami also admitted that balancing his personal life with demanding international cricketing calendar during his troubled marriage has been very difficult. “It was really difficult, it pinches you. When you are playing at the highest level, you ae forced to divide your focus. On one side, you are watching what is happening at home, and on the other side, you have to perform for the country. It puts you under immense pressure,” the Indian pacer revealed.

He further went on to add when asked if he ever tried to resolve it, stating, “Nobody wants fights at home, especially when you are serving your conuntry. I tried, but it depends on the other side as well. If they don’t want to, then patience is the only answer.”

This wasn’t all as the Indian pacer also spoke of the abuse he has encountered over the years. “Sometimes I see pictures of myself in places I never visited. The kind of accusation I have faced in the last six or seven years are more than what some criminals face. There is nothing I can do about it.”
