Star Indian pacer, Mohammed Shami has been off the cricket field for some time after he was last seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, the Indian pacer did not have a great outing in the IPL, where he finished with only six wickets in nine matches at an economy of 11.23, he was snubbed from the Test squad, currently touring England.
While he continues to remain on the sidelines, he has been fighting a long legal battle with his estranged wife. It is to be noted that Shami tied a knot with a former model Hasin Jahan in 2014 and welcomed a daughter in the following year in 2015. However, the couple’s marriage took a drastic turn in 2018 and they have been into a legal battle after Shami was accused of domestic violence, dowry harassment and match-fixing.

But recently, the Calcutta High Court, where the case has been going on, ordered the Indian cricketer to pay a monthly alimony worth INR 4 Lakh to his estrange wife for her maintenance and the care of their daughter Aaira. Days after this verdict, Shami’s estranged wife, Hasin Jahan took to Instagram to accuse the Indian cricketer. “I love you so much jaanu ❤️ Milegi? kahi mere jaisi biwi jo itni shiddat se rishta nibhae? "Don't worry my love" marte dam tak ham ek mazboot rishta nibhaenge inshallah bas decide apko karna hai wo mazboot rishta hoga kaisa! 7 sal se hamlog legal battle me involved hai. Kya faida hua apko? Characterless,greedy,mean minded hone ke karan apna khud ka hi family barbad kar dia”, the caption of her post began.
“Kitne criminals kharida apne hame marne ke lie,badnaam karne ke lie,pareshan karne ke lie har jagah se harane(defeat) ke lie,kuch hasil hua apko?jo paise haraamkhoro ko dia beshyao par lootaya wo paise agar apni beti ki education,life and future ke lie kharch kia hota aur mujhe achi zindagi dete to kitna acha hota gunah se bhi bach jate aur ham ek izzat ki achi zindagi jee sakte the, Dekho Allah ne mujhe kitni himmat, bardasht aur sabar dia hai mai still haq ki ladai me khadi hu. Ap poori dunya ki criminals ka sath lelo fir bhi mera kuch bigar nahi paoge,kiu ke mera sath supreme power Allah ka hai shukarAlhamdulillah,” she further wrote, making allegations with the use of strong words like “characterless, greedy”.
However, this comes at a crucial stage with Shami’s career at its peak, the Indian pacer has remained tight-lipped in the matter and continues to train to regain complete fitness. Despite missing the England tour, Shami continues to be part of the BCCI central contract list.
