Pat Cummins gave a sigh of relief to the fans as he resumed his practice ahead of the upcoming Ashes series, set to commence from November 21. The Australian skipper isn’t included in the squad for the first Ashes in Perth after sustaining a lumbar stress during the West Indies tour in September 2025. In his place, Steve Smith has been appointed as captain for the first Test against England.

Now, Pat Cummins gave a sign of his return in international cricket as he can be seen resuming bowling practice in nets at Sydney Cricket Ground in a viral video. Now, the fans are expecting Cummins to return for the second Test and continue to lead the Aussies in the much-awaited Ashes series. Cricket Australia is yet to announce the squad for the remaining four Ashes Tests.

Australia aim to retain the Ashes

The much-awaited Ashes series between Australia and England is set to start on November 21 down under. Australia ended up winning the Ashes in 2021-22 and the series was drawn 2-2 which keeps the Ashes urn with the Aussies. Now, Pat Cummins and his men will be looking to continue their domination in Tests and retain the Ashes again in front of their home crowd. On the other hand, England also aim to win the Ashes for the first time after 2015.
