Team India has reached Dubai for the Asia Cup 2025 to begin in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9. The Men in Blue are the reigning champions and they will defend the title under Suryakumar Yadav’s captaincy. In 2023, India won the Asia Cup 2023 (played in the One-Day International format) under Rohit Sharma’s leadership. In the continental tournament, India are the most successful team with eight titles. Suryakumar will be expected to lead the side from the front to justify the team’s reputation. India are placed in Group A, alongside Oman, Pakistan, and the UAE, and the reigning champions will start their campaign against the UAE on September 10.

In a video shared by Star Sports, Team India can be seen arriving in Dubai to participate in the first training session of the marquee event. Star players Suryakumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill were seen wearing smiles on their faces. This year, Suryakumar and his men have played only one T20I series. In January, when England toured India for the five T20Is, India hammered the visitors by 4-1. They will look to continue their scintillating form in the Asia Cup 2025 as well.

India to face their arch-rivals Pakistan on September 14

India’s major challenger in the Group A is expected to be Pakistan, which will be led by Salman Ali Agha. Both arch-rivals will square off against each other at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 14. This year, both teams met each other at the same venue in the Champions Trophy 2025.

Discussing India’s head-to-head record against Pakistan, the former have emerged victorious in nine instances while on three occasions, the Men in Green stood tall. At Dubai’s iconic stadium, Pakistan have an upper hand as they have won two off three outings. One game was bagged by the Men in Blue in the Asia Cup 2022.
