The Number 1 ranked T20I batter in the world Abhishek Sharma has started the preparations for IPL 2026 in fine style with just a few more weeks left before the start of the tournament. Sunrisers Hyderabad have started their preparations for the upcoming edition and played an intra squad match in which Abhishek Sharma smashed 94 runs off just 42 balls. Abhishek struggled throughout the 2026 WT20 and had plenty of pressure but came back to form scoring a half century in the Final against New Zealand which gave India a very good start. Now he has continued his form ahead of the upcoming season.

Abhishek Sharma was the highest six hitter for Sunrisers Hyderabad last year and has been very consistent for the team in the last few years. Abhishek and Travis Head have formed a formidable opening pair and they have played a huge part in Sunrisers Hyderabad posting big totals in the last few years. Sunrisers Hyderabad have scored 250 or more runs in an innings five times in the last few years and Abhishek has done well in most of those games.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will hope that the stylish left hander continues his blistering form for the team as they are eyeing for their second IPL title. Abhishek Sharma has also enjoyed a good few seasons in the IPL and is currently one of the best openers going around. His international T20I numbers are also really good and the strike rate has been impressive.

The Indian Premier League 2026 is set to begin in a few weeks and most teams have already started their preparations. Sunrisers Hyderabad will be without their captain Pat Cummins for the start of the tournament and in his absence Ishan Kishan will captain the side. Sunrisers Hyderabad will be in action during the first game of the season which starts on March 28 where they will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
