The Jabalpur Royal Lions wicket-keeper batter Ajay Rohera scored a sensational knock of 132 from 63 balls and he single-handedly carried their batting unit. The batter looked quite good right from ball one and it was only a matter of time until he converted his knock to a big score. Despite losing his partners constantly from the other end, Ajay Rohera made sure that he was in for the long haul and he played some exquisite shots. Ajay ended up scoring 7 fours and 10 sixes while striking at 209. The Chambal Ghariyals couldn’t find a way to get the batter out and Ajay Rohera took the game away from them.
The batting unit of the Jabalpur Royal Lions apart from Ajay Rohera was fairly disappointing to see. None of the other batters were able to make an impact in the game and they were solely dependent on the runs flowing from the bat of their wicketkeeper batter. Mihir Hirwani took his time even though he was struggling but he was striking at less than a 100 when he was dismissed. The Royal Lions could have easily got past the 250-run mark, had any other batter played at least the lower hand along with Ajay Rohera but it was the centurion that had to do all the work.
Ankush Singh keeps Chambal Ghariyals alive in the chase
Chambal Ghariyals would be quite delighted with their bowling effort as they did manage to control the flow of runs as it was just one player that was causing troubles for them. It is quite a rare feat that a player gets past 130 in a game but the team ends up just around the 200-run mark. Ajay Rohera was in the mood for some big shots and he played the field perfectly according to his strength. In the bowling unit of the Ghariyals, it was Aman Bhadoriya that stole the show as he picked up 2 wickets from 4 overs and gave away just 18 runs. Sandeep Singh did also a good job with the ball as he picked up 3 wickets from his quota of 4 overs but he was a bit expensive as he gave away 40 runs.
In the second innings of the game, it has been all about Ankush Singh as he is striking the ball beautifully and he has contributed immensely for the Chambal Ghariyals. It was the second one-man show of the match as after Ajay Rohera, it is Ankush Singh who is carrying his side’s batting unit. Nayanraj Mewada has done a brilliant job to pick up 2 wickets from his 4 overs while giving away just 31 runs. Sanjog Nijjar was also decent with the ball as he picked up a wicket and gave away just 19 runs from his 2 overs.
It will be an interesting finish to the game as the Chambal Ghariyals are edging closer to the total and it seems gettable from here on in. All eyes will be on Ankush Singh as he could take his side home with the required run rate not exactly growing big on the Chambal Ghariyals.
