In the 4th over of the 2nd innings of the game between the Mumbai Indians and the Kolkata Knight Riders, Ajinkya Rahane walked out of the field as he sustained a minor injury while fielding. It seemed like it was more of a precautionary measure to pull out Ajinkya Rahane off the field, as it seemed to be a muscle cramp. The KKR camp will be hoping that it will just be the muscle cramps and nothing else, as he is the captain and is in some fine batting form.
Just when Varun Chakravarthy was being brought into the attack in place of Vaibhav Arora, there appeared to be a slight delay. The physio had spent a considerable amount of time in the field checking on the skipper, and it doesn’t seem to be positive for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Rinku Singh will be the stand-in captain of the side until Rahane returns to the field, and Manish Pandey has entered as the substitute fielder.
The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper, Ajinkya Rahane, had scored a fantastic knock of 67 off just 40 balls, including 3 fours and 5 sixes in his innings. With Rahane being in such good touch, it will hurt the KKR batting unit if he has sustained a serious injury. Fingers crossed for Ajinkya Rahane as he looked really confident with the bat, and his leadership expertise is invaluable for the side
