Kolkata Knight Riders have been dealt a big blow ahead of the upcoming season of the IPL with pacer Akashdeep ruled out of the upcoming season. The team was already hit by injury to Harshit Rana and Pathirana, now this blow has left their pace stocks a bit light. With the Indian Premier League set to begin in a few weeks time, Kolkata Knight Riders will be keen to rope in some replacement. In this article we take a look at three players who might replace Akash Deep in the KKR squad for the upcoming season.
Chetan Sakariya
Chetan Sakariya is a talented left arm pacer and did well for Saurashtra in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He has also been part of a few IPL teams in the past and has experience. He would fit into this KKR side really well and will enjoy bowling at the Eden Gardens where he can also provide value with the new ball. Chetan has played most of his IPL cricket for Rajasthan Royals but in the previous season he was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders setup.

Umesh Yadav
Veteran pacer, Umesh Yadav went unsold in the recent auction. However he has plenty of experience and has played more than 140 matches in the IPL and he will provide great new ball value to the side. Kolkata Knight Riders will be looking at him for a potential replacement given the lack of experience among other Indian pacers in their squad.
Akash Madhwal
A right arm pacer with plenty of variations, Akash Madhwal rose to limelight with Mumbai Indians where he performed extremely well. He then went on to play for RR and could not replicate his magic and was unsold recently. Madhwal will be a good addition to the KKR side given his skill set and can be a good like to like replacement for Akashdeep. He can be skiddy and provide them with plenty of depth in the pace bowling unit.
