Akeal Hosein took a stunning catch to bring an end to Auqib Nabi’s knock. The Chennai Super Kings hosted the Delhi Capitals in the 18th game of the IPL 2026. Coming off three consecutive losses, the hosts saw Sanju Samson post his maiden century for the century, and guiding the team’s total to 212 runs. The Capitals, on the other hand, were aiming to make a comeback with the bat. However, the Chennai players continued their momentum into the second innings and dismantled the Delhi lineup.

In a stunning display of fielding prowess, Akeal Hosein completed an acrobatic catch to dismiss Auqib Nabi. On the fourth ball of the 16th over, Nabi tried to slog a Jamie Overton delivery, and the ball ended up flying off the outer half. Hosein, who came in as an impact player in pace of Ayush Mhatre, misjudged the ball and landed on his back to complete the catch.

The acrobatic catch left skipper Rutujraj Gaikwad in disbelief, who then went on to hug Hosein and made sure if he didn’t sustain any injury. Nabi was forced to walk back at four runs in two balls.

CSK bowlers display remarkable prowess against DC batters

Playing at home, Chepauk, the five-time champions were in dire need of a victory. After a solid show from Sanju Samson and Ayush Mhatre, CSK aimed to make sure the Capitals didn’t claw back in the game, and the bowlers didn’t disappoint. The Super Kings got their first success in the form of KL Rahul, who had to walk back at 18 runs in 10 balls. While Pathum Nissanka tried his best to stay firm on the crease, players kept changing on the other end.

Most of their players, including skipper Axar Patel, ended up with single digit scores. Eventually, the Capitals suffered a 23-run loss, their second in a row. On the other hand, the Yellow Army finally ended their losing streak and recorded their first win of the season. This was also their first win after six straight losses at Chepauk.
