Indian speedster Arshdeep Singh created history and became the first Punjab Kings bowler to take 100 wickets for the franchise. Singh achieved the feat during the Kings’ clash against the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026 on Thursday, April 16. The game saw visiting skipper Shreyas Iyer winning the toss and inviting the rivals to put the score on the board first. Mumbai, who were missing their former skipper and opener Rohit Sharma, sent Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton to open the innings.

However, it seemed that the Punjab Kings were in no mood to be easy on the Gold and Blue brigade. Arshdeep Singh, who came in to deliver the second over, picked two wickets in two consecutive balls, sending opener Rickelton and Surya Kumar Yadav back to the dug out. With his lethal bowling and first wicket of the night, Singh became the first bowler of his franchise to reach the milestone.

Not only this, but he is also the 31st player in the history of the IPL to take 100 wickets. Notably, Singh has made 87 appearances in IPL for Punjab Kings and Kings XI Punjab and is its leading wicket-taker. Moreover, Singh is also India’s leading wicket-taker in T20Is with 127 wickets in 84 games.
