Chennai Super Kings’ rising batting sensation Ayush Mhatre put on a show of resilience while deciding to bat despite getting injured. During the game against SunRisers Hyderabad on Saturday, at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Mhatre pulled his hamstring during CSK’s chase of 195. However, despite his injury, the young lad decided to keep batting, though his knock came to an end right on the next ball.
The incident took place after the second delivery of the fifth over of second innings when he was batting alongside skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. While running across the pitch, Mhatre pulled his muscle and almost gave up. The team physio gave him some aid, and while the team couldn’t risk another injury, Mhatre decided to bat.
However, the pain didn’t lessen, and he was seen limping while running for a single. Later on the fourth ball of the fifth wicket, Heinrich Klaasen caught him out by pulling an impressive left-dive catch. The Captain of the India U19 Cricket team had to walk back at 30 runs off 13 balls.

CSK’s top-batting order struggles against SunRisers Hyderabad
The five-time IPL winning team struggled against the Orange Army at the latter’s homeground on Saturday. Coming off two back-to-back wins, CSK’s top-batting order collapsed within no time. Sanju Samson, who played a crucial role in guiding the side to their first two wins, walked back at 7 runs, followed by Mhatre on 30. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad’s performance slump continued as he managed to put together only 19 runs.
Apart from them, Sarfaraz Khan scored 25 runs while Baby AB, Dewald Brevis, walked back on a four-ball duck. As of writing, Matthew Short was batting at 21 off 18 while Shivam Dube was at 1 off 1. The CSK were 114 at 5 in 11.5 overs.
